I absolutely love Christmas. I’m one of those people who puts the decorations up in November, has Christmas music playing as soon as I can reasonably get away with it, and would probably listen to it all year if I wouldn’t drive everyone else mad.

Since having my little one, I think I love it even more. I love all the little traditions that come with Christmas, especially getting to pass some of the traditions I grew up with on to him, while making new ones of our own.

Decorating the tree together. Baking Christmas biscuits. Making decorations. Christmas music playing in the background. All those little things that don’t necessarily feel like big moments at the time, but are such a huge part of the Christmases I want to remember.

And it got me thinking. I’d love someone to photograph that for me.

Not a photoshoot where we’re all dressed up and looking at the camera. Just someone there while we decorate the tree or make a complete mess of the kitchen baking biscuits, capturing us actually doing it. I’d love to have those photos of my own family, especially because I’m usually the one behind the camera.

And that’s exactly what I want to capture for other families too.

So that’s where Christmas at Home came from.
