Hoppity Minis
Session Guide
Welcome to your Hoppity Minis Session Guide.
These mini sessions are all about capturing your little one just as they are, playing, exploring, getting messy and enjoying everything Hoppity has to offer.
There’s no need for perfect poses or forced smiles. Instead, I’ll capture them playing as it unfolds.
Your mini session will take place during your Hoppity Stay & Play session, so your child can continue to play and enjoy themselves while I photograph them naturally. I may gently guide or encourage them when needed, but there’s no pressure for them to sit still or look at the camera.
The aim is to keep everything relaxed and fun, allowing your child plenty of time to warm up to me and the camera. If they need a little break or simply aren’t feeling it straight away, that’s completely okay, we’ll follow their lead.
In the following pages, you’ll find a few helpful tips on:
What to wear

How to view and choose your photographs
My goal is to make the experience as easy and relaxed as possible, while capturing beautiful, natural photographs of your little one being completely themselves.

What to expect on the day
I'll be near the tea and coffee area at the start of your Hoppity session. Feel free to come and say hello or give me a wave, and I'll happily come over to you so your little one doesn't need to stop playing.
Your mini session will last 20 minutes and will take place while your child enjoys their Hoppity Stay & Play session. I'll photograph them naturally as they explore, play and get involved in the activities around them.
There's no pressure for your child to sit still, pose or smile at the camera. The aim is to capture genuine moments and expressions while they're busy having fun.
I may gently encourage your little one towards the forest play area, as the natural light and surroundings there are particularly lovely for photographs. However, there's absolutely no pressure if they'd rather explore somewhere else! I'm more than happy to follow their lead and capture them wherever they're happiest playing.
Arriving on Time
Please make sure you're ready for your photography session at your booked time. As sessions are scheduled throughout the morning, it's important that we start on time to ensure every family gets their full session.
I've allowed a small 5-minute buffer between bookings, giving us a little flexibility if your child needs a moment to warm up.
Following Your Child's Lead
If your little one is feeling shy, unsure or simply isn't in the mood when we first start, please don't worry. We'll give them some space and take things at their pace.
If time allows at the end of the Stay & Play session, I'm happy to circle back to children who might benefit from a few more photographs. However, this can't be guaranteed, so we'll aim to capture everything during your booked 20-minute slot.
Above all, the experience is designed to be relaxed, fun and child-led, allowing your little one to enjoy their time at Hoppity while I capture them being themselves.
Weather
Hoppity Mini Sessions take place outdoors, but thankfully the woodland setting provides plenty of shelter from the weather. Sessions will go ahead in most weather conditions, including light rain and wind, as we can make use of the more sheltered areas of the woods.
Sessions will only be rescheduled if Hoppity is closed due to adverse weather conditions. If this happens, I'll be in touch to arrange an alternative date.
How to prepare for your session
What to wear
The most important thing is that your little one feels comfortable and ready to play, explore and get a little messy!
There's no need to buy anything new or dress them in anything fancy. However, if you'd like to choose an outfit that photographs particularly well, here are a few suggestions.
Colours & Clothing
Soft, neutral colours such as cream, beige, white and pastels.
Muted colours such as sage green, soft blue or blush pink.
Simple patterns and natural textures such as knitwear, linen or cotton.
Comfortable clothing that allows your child to move and play freely.
Practical shoes or wellies depending on the weather and ground conditions.
Things to Avoid
Large logos or text.
Neon colours.
Busy or distracting patterns.
A Little Reminder
Hoppity sessions are all about children getting stuck in and having fun, so please choose something you're happy for them to play in and potentially get a little muddy!
Comfort always comes first, and the best photographs are the ones where your child feels free to be themselves.
If you're unsure about what to dress your little one in, you're always welcome to message me beforehand. I'm more than happy to help!
What to bring
A few small items can be helpful during the session, especially when little ones are involved.
Wipes (always useful!)
Snacks in case your child gets hungry
A comfort item if your child has one (this can stay nearby and doesn’t need to be in the photos)
Spare outfits
A little note for parents
Try not to worry too much about correcting or bribing your child during the session. I can get some of the loveliest photographs when children are being silly, energetic or just completely themselves. The best photos will come from letting the kids be kids and embracing the chaos.
After your session
Your online gallery will be delivered within 3 weeks
Your gallery will contain a selection of beautifully edited images from your session.
You’ll be able to choose your included image and, if you find it hard to narrow them down, additional images will be available to purchase.
Galleries will remain open for 1 month from the delivery date to allow you to view and select your images.
See you soon
I can’t wait to meet you and photograph your family. I hope this guide has helped you feel a little more prepared, and most of all, I hope you’re looking forward to the session.
If you have any questions before the session, please feel free to get in touch. I’m always happy to help.
